Our Porsche 911 Targa Wide Body project
We currently have a 1988 Porsche but have decided to sell it and have purchased another 1988 as our project car. The main reason was to get something with less miles that has already had some of the work completed on it.
We ended up buying a 1988 911 Targa wide body conversion. I'm super excited about the wide body. This is by far my favorite version of the Porsche though I also favor the 70's RS 911 in white with the orange Carerra lettering.
We purchased the car from a guy in Florida and it's being shipped here as I write this first post.
Just a bit on the car.
The car has spent it's life in Florida. I purchased it from the second owner. He put approximately 6k miles on it in the last six years. As with most of these cars it has spent it's time in indoor storage. The car has already been significantly modified from it's original version as it's had a metal wide body kit added to it as well as some other modifications that would be more minor. It's had a turbo tail put on it. It has 928 mirrors which I really like in comparison to the originals with the black trim. It also has the newer style turbo twist wheels
I'm going to start with a photo of the car and I'm going to make a list of things we will do to the car to restore it. By 'restore' I do not mean concours. We will simply be bringing this car to better physical and mechanical condition while making it our own.
